Essex Police Musical Society is always looking for new members.   

 

We have around 25 members of all ages and ability and the group is open to anyone over the age of 16.  Membership is open to everyone - You don’t need to be a member of the Essex Police family, civilian or otherwise.  Even if you work shifts, you can usually accommodate this within our rehearsal schedules.  Formal auditions are usually held for principal parts and details of these are advised to all members when required.  However we are always on the lookout for new members and, together with most societies, are always short of men!  Tenors, baritones and basses are pounced upon with relish.

 

If you don’t fancy “treading the boards” on the stage, remember that no show or production is complete without the support of those who work behind the scenes, so if your talent is behind the scenes or you prefer to work backstage, front of house, in wardrobe or lighting, scenery etc. please feel free to contact us.  We’re always happy to welcome new members in these areas.

 

We rehearse every Monday and Thursday evening from 7.30 p.m. to around 10 p.m. in the Assembly Hall at Police Headquarters in Springfield, Chelmsford so anyone is welcome to join us.  (Map to HQ).

“There are very few clubs or pastimes nowadays where you can exercise your vocal chords, get to do some acting, entertain other people, raise money for very worthy causes, improve your social life and get to dress up, sometimes in very exotic costumes ”

and this was from a male member!

 

Fees for acting members are £25 for individuals, £40 for joint/family membership.

Non acting members, (back stage, wardrobe, lighting etc) £10.

Members under 16 (at society’s discretion) £10.
